On this day of gridiron battles, the lightness of nine year olds playing tackle football is clouded by memories of terror and smoke. Sitting on a bleacher, inhaling humidity and doughnut glaze, cheering for the home team is delicious, empty-headed Freedom. I feel no need to be ironic or judgmental. However, I do feel the need to remember and question. Question whether or not there can ever be winners in the game of gaining ground.
