Shaped like an egg with pretzels for legs, Gary is built to duel with The Shadow. Easy work for such a well-rounded fellow. But stick 'im in the light and he'll give you a fright by telling your truth straight to your face. Gary's all garters and lace, but he is The Strong Man we all hope falls on the table, a sign that we are able to save ourselves from this cell of deceit. Just like the receipt that falls from Gary's pocket as he stuffs another curl in his Grandma's locket, words scrawled on the back of a greasy scrap can change one's look on life:
a knave to fashion / diet culture eats its own / the truth about curves
( … and it's not really true what The Influencers say … that one can only put eggs in an egg carton?)
