All the best ideas are swirling above us in a cloud of dandelion fuzz. The lucky are plugged-in and can hitch their wagon to smart, shiny diversions. The not-so-lucky are left wondering why they can't feed their children. Turns out we all swallow a bitter draught when we sidle up to the table of plenty. We've got to get better at building the connected society.

I am an ardent student of history, and have a particular passion for Civil War stories. On a musical note, I’m a fan of Kate Bush. I can’t even begin to tell you how very squee-worthy this clip is. Watch, listen, and you will understand:

For weeks, the Dallas area has been a distant observer to one of the nation’s
worst years for tornadoes. On Tuesday, it got a close-up view as a tornadic
storm system packing heavy rain and damaging hail held it in its grip.

Supercell's circulating. Velocity. Ice falling from the sky. Sirens warn of tornadic activity. Phone dialed with a mother's worried hand. That closet is mighty small. That funnel moves faster still. No barking dogs. Only storm song. Tuesday night.
