Nothing screams Christmas like hitting the road with Dog as your co-pilot.
Carving out a corner to post random crap.

You all know that I have been sustained throughout my life by three saving
graces: my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope.
These graces have carried me through difficult times and they have brought more
joy to the good times than I ever could have imagined.

I'm truly saddened by the death of this remarkable woman. I have always been impressed by Elizabeth Edwards' intellect, courage, and dignity. I shall keep Elizabeth and her children in my thoughts, and do my best to live the lessons of spirit and strength that her life exemplified.
Nine Pearl Harbor survivors participated in Tuesday’s event commemorating the
69th anniversary of the attack on the United States.
Thank you, gentlemen, for your service to our country. That date and the deeds done will not be forgotten.
'Tis definitely not the season until one breaks out the Party Mix fixin's.
I don't like going to the mall to get mauled. I do like being comfy and getting in a bit of holiday shopping while watching ABC Family's Harry Potter Weekend. Need that gift wrapped? Shipped? No worries. Sit back, relax, tax your fingers with a few keystrokes, and enjoy the peace and quiet of your couch. Can there be any other way to shop? I think not.
I have one holiday decoration up. The neighbors have their house lit like a casino on the Vegas strip. The subtle, more intimate scenes of the season, like the sharp scent of nutmeg and clove or flickering candlelight are more to my taste. Twinkling lights on a tree is instant magic. Inflatable Santa’s and reindeer (especially when Santa is a flattened heap of plastic during the day) make for cheesy landscaping. Who am I to ridicule one’s artistic vision of Yule? Perhaps a blossoming Scrooge or Grinch. But I still abide by a simple motto no matter what time of year: Less is More.

Than you, angefitzgerald.com, for the family photo!
The mantel is already for Santa to come down the
chimney!!! I've just got to fix Jack's stocking this year. It is
going the wrong direction. Sorry Jack. Nana will get busy on that.

Have you taken a look at the calendar lately? Notice how there aren't any pages left? How did this happen? Time has slipped on by while I was apparently engaged in some effort or activity of which I have no recollection. Well, thank goodness Mom has taken hold of the situation and has jumped headlong into the holiday spirit. I know what I'll be doing this weekend. How about you?
