• Sometimes, a photographer goes out in search of a good photo–and, because of unforeseen circumstances, he comes back with a great photo, one that gets displayed all over the world.

Highrises. Storms. A trick of the light. Shadows. Nature striking you across the face.

That which inspires can also wreak havoc.

  • Summer’s blush does not come from modesty.

It’s a limited engagement that fuels her fiery hues, making the spectacle of light impossible to deny.

  • This is where you’ll find all the latest news from the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse … we’ll be updating it regularly with the latest!

So much to catch up on from last night's Eclipse premiere. Read, watch, and enjoy!

  • Books

Summer relaxation always involves reading. And look at what Karin at Enbokcirkelföralla sent me! Happy, happy am I. Almost feel like taking the day off from work to start in on the stories, but no such luck for now. With one colleague out having surgery and another on vacation, book crackin’ plans are put on hold until this evening.

    Just curious:

Do you read more during the summer than at other times of the year? And how do you unwind at the end of the day? With a book, perhaps?

  • To the Motorcycle Maniac:

Late for work…or simply a death wish? In either case, don’t involve innocent bystanders in your quest for Biggest (and most dangerous) Jackass on the Highway.

I know summer brings out the sense of adventure, but it does not give license to endanger others, especially when you show so little regard for your own life.

It’s a difficult thing to fall in love with a Monday morning. Pity, really. It has been a good long while since I felt the Sunday Blues and the Monday Moans (& Groans.) But now that they’ve made their presence known, I must deal with them decisively. It’s all in my attitude, right? I can only change my perception of the events unfolding around me, not the actual events themselves…??? Is following your bliss really all about courage and blind faith and letting go fully to the will of the Universe? Or is all of that just clever marketing that plays to the emotions of desk jockeys the world over?

Hey! Buy my book-DVD-diet plan-lecture series that will unlock your hidden potential and have you saying buh-bye to Mr. Time Clock forever!”

I’m probably giving myself a headache over a whole lot of nothing. For one thing, I am finding it easier to shift into autopilot once I’m planted in front of my work computer. See? That’s a useful coping mechanism. Plus, I’m surrounded by lots of ambivalent people. Strength in numbers! No one likes feeling left out of the crowd (though sometimes Misery prefers being left alone.) So, for now, I’ll have another cup of coffee and slap myself about the head. If all I’m looking to do is get through the day, so be it. I have an active imagination (and an iPhone to play with!) when I need to distract myself from spreadsheets, databases, and grumpy emails. If simply typing out this blog entry is the most satisfying thing I do today, I’ll take it. And be glad for it.

  • Team Jacob

This week I received a surprise parcel from my BFF, Monica. Monica has lived in Texas, where my husband and I currently reside, and she knows how hot Spring/Summer/Autumn is around these parts. She bought a couple cute warm weather tops to cheer me up since the heat has a way of wearing you down. But of course, these were no mere everyday t-shirts. Instead, what the postman brought to my doorstep was none other than official Summit Entertainment “Eclipse” movie tie-in apparel sold by my favorite retailer, Nordstrom. Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, shopping at Nordy’s was a time-honored tradition. Today, one can find a Nordstrom in a whole host of cities, but when I was a kid, the clothing store was known mostly to we moss covered denizens of Puget Sound.

Now there’s no need to rifle through my closet to find something suitable to wear when I go see “Eclipse.” Thanks Monica!

What do you think of the marketing blitz surrounding the Twilight franchise?
