I’ll need to steal away some time to read The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. I’ve always thought the character, which makes a brief but memorable appearance in Eclipse, was a storyteller’s gem that needed its moment to shine. One could tell Bree was living in her own world somewhere between the pages of a worn out notebook (or more likely a computer file.) Sketches of a backstory that couldn’t quite compete with the Cullens and Quileutes, but a tale nonetheless of lost humanity, helping to put all of the supernatural derring-do of the Twilight Saga into perspective. The novella will bring a new dimension to the story, just in time for “Eclipse” to hit theatres at the end of this month.
